Seen in profile, like an ancient Roman coin, Snake Head Rattle started life as a photographic collage which was then painted. A fantastical fusion of military and musical language, this Warrior doesn’t break the rigidity of her pose by giving you a sideways glance. This Warrior is something of a global mash up: Japanese hair pins, voodoo snakes, adapted Japanese text in the background (seen back to front) all combine to make a new kind of High Priestess.
